The programs seem so focused on outcomes, are they still fun?

When do you recommend conducting the program if my meeting takes place over several days?

We typically advise hosting our program at the beginning of your multi-day meeting. Starting off with a team-building session sets the tone, establishes a collaborative environment, and primes participants for a more productive experience throughout the event. However, if the content of our program is intended to reinforce key discussion points or seamlessly integrate with another agenda topic, scheduling it later in the meeting can be equally effective. Ultimately, we tailor our recommendation to best support your overall meeting objectives.

Are your team-building programs inclusive?

Absolutely. Our team-building programs are inclusive in two key ways. First, everything is turnkey—every element is included in the cost with no hidden fees or surprise up-sells. Second, our sessions are designed so that every participant feels valued and comfortable engaging. We customize our approach to meet teams “where they are,” ensuring that everyone can participate fully without fear of exclusion.

Do I pick from a list of activities for Shifting Gears?

No. The activities for Shifting Gears are too dynamic and nuanced to be neatly described in a fixed list. Instead of choosing from a predetermined menu, we carefully curate your program by considering several factors, such as:

Your specific goals and objectives
Your team’s past team-building experiences
The overall attitude of your participants
The characteristics of the available space
The time allocated for the program

About half of the activities are selected in advance based on your stated objectives, while the remaining portion is crafted organically during the session. This approach allows us to meet your team “where they are” and ensures everyone is invited to engage meaningfully—without having to fit into a pre-scripted set of activities. Is Expedition Antarctica a board game?

Yes—and it’s so much more. While it has a board game element, Expedition Antarctica is an immersive, real-life simulation where teams plan, organize, manage resources, and navigate unexpected challenges. Unlike traditional board games such as “LIFE” or “Candyland,” it generates high energy, gets participants actively moving, and culminates in powerful, reflective learning experiences.

How long are the programs?

We typically ask clients to allocate up to 4 hours for our standard half-day team-building programs to ensure there’s ample time for both the planned activities and the conversations that deepen the learning experience. For our TeamQuest program, sessions generally range between 4 and 7 hours, allowing for even more in-depth exploration. While our programs may not always use the entire allotted time, this schedule helps ensure that the content is fully absorbed. If you have a shorter time-frame, please let us know—we’re flexible and can usually adjust to meet your needs. Additionally, the number of participants can also influence the overall duration of a program. Our Personify Leadership program is a full, two-day experience.

Do you travel beyond Richmond, Virginia—and what are the associated travel costs?

Yes, we proudly travel across the United States and internationally to deliver our transformative team-building experiences. In fact, Greg has delivered programs in 41 states and 7 countries. When we travel, we follow a transparent, cost-effective policy that includes:

Charging the federal mileage rate
Staying in a Hampton Inn or an equivalent hotel
Flying coach
Adhering to federal daily per diem rates

Typically, we bill based on the actual expenses incurred rather than a flat per diem, which is usually more economical. If you have specific travel policies, we’re happy to work with you to accommodate them. No matter where your event is held, our commitment is to bring our expertise and personalized approach directly to you.

Rather than offering an endless list of “fun” activities, we’re committed to delivering tangible results that align with your team’s unique goals. Where do you conduct the TeamQuest program?

TeamQuest is primarily hosted at the Odyssey Course at the University of Richmond—a location that perfectly meets the program’s unique needs. While we generally use this venue, we’ve also partnered with other ropes course facilities that align with our requirements and collaborate closely with their staff. Ultimately, the success of TeamQuest hinges on our expert facilitation, ensuring a transformative experience no matter the venue.

Do you think WaterWorx would be too difficult for my team?

While WaterWorx is one of the most complex team-building activities we offer, our experience shows that every team can succeed with it. We’ve successfully delivered the program to diverse groups—from social workers at a conference to aerospace engineers, and even through our Challenge Discovery division for an 8th-grade science class. This versatility demonstrates that although challenging, WaterWorx is adaptable and designed to meet the needs of any team, regardless of background or skill level.

How much do your programs cost, and is your pricing flexible?

Our pricing reflects the value we bring—not just time, headcount, or event location. For our traditional half-day team-building programs, costs range between $50 and $100 per person* (excluding travel expenses). Each program comes turnkey, with a detailed PDF outlining all room setup and logistical requirements—so all you need is the space to conduct the session.

While these rates are generally fixed to maintain consistency, fairness, and quality, we do work with large groups (over 100 participants) and long-term partners to tailor a pricing solution that works for everyone.
